Because the evergreen bushes are covered with vivid flowers for many months, blooming continuously from spring to autumn.
The foliage of Salvia greggii ‘Tangerine’ is pleasantly aromatic with a minty scent.
So it is a treat to brush by or stroke the leaves.
But the aroma and essential oils also make the bush unpalatable for rabbits & deer.
While the nectar-rich flowers act as magnets for native birds, bees & butterflies, and help to make the garden eco-friendly.

Soil: Tolerates a wide range of soils – including acid and alkaline. But soil must always be well drained. Particularly suited to sandy soils and coastal positions.
Growth: Evergreen, neat, rounded, shrubby perennial.
Care & Maintenance: Easy care, low maintenance.
Pests & Diseases: Rarely troubled by pests or diseases.
Pruning: Pruning is not essential. But if you wish to shape – it can be pruned over and shaped in late winter.
Fertilizer: Do not over-fertilize. Quality fertilizer, such as Powerfeed, can be applied sparingly in spring. This plant is not a heavy feeder.
We recommend to water in with Seasol at planting, and regularly after to help protect against frost, wind and heat.
Container: Hardy & easy in a pot.
Bees, Birds & Pollinators: Flowers are very attractive to bees, butterflies, honey eating native birds, and other beneficial pollinators. The long and prolific blooming period means there is abundant nectar for bees and birds over many months.
Rabbits & Deer Resistance: Unlikely to be bothered by either rabbits or deer, as they dislike the taste of the aromatic foliage.
