Penstemon ‘Osprey’

Penstemon ‘Osprey’ is a ravishing beauty – creating an outstanding garden show for months.
Having exceptionally large, open trumpets with creamy throats and lipstick lips.
‘Osprey’ is a real showgirl – she always has her lipstick on and is always performing.

Penstemon ‘Osprey’ is one of the tallest of all Penstemons at approx. 1.2m High in flower x 90cm Wide.
And shows off some of the largest trumpets of all.

Big blooms, which native birds, bees and gardeners cannot resist, are closely packed up the tall, upright stems

Like all Penstemons - ‘Osprey’ is frost hardy, resistant to drought once established, and rarely if ever troubled by pests or diseases. It is a low maintenance evergreen perennial clump.

Penstemons are water-wise plants.

So ‘Osprey’ will still perform creditably with minimal water assistance during dry periods.

Plant in full sun to partial shade positions.
Penstemon ‘Osprey’ also gives great value and excellent performance in a wide range of soils.
Then with the addition of moderate amounts of fertilizer, compost, and summer mulch ‘Osprey’ will excel with a constant procession of flower stems.
Penstemons are not thirsty or hungry plants.

Penstemon ‘Osprey’ is a also low maintenance plant, as it only requires a cut-back at the end of autumn to shape it up ready for commencement of blooming next spring.
Deadheading spent stems throughout the blooming season will also encourage even more prolific blooming, but it is not essential work.
