The new ‘Spring Celebrities’ Hollyhocks are more compact growing, with many strong, stout stems.
Making them ideal for adding height to gardens small and large, and in pots.
All bear large double blooms, with powder-puff centres.
With big flowers close packed all the way around multiple stems and opening from the bottom up.
New ‘Spring Celebrities’ have more flowers and more stems than old Hollyhocks.
60-90cm. high strong flower stems x 30-60cm. wide low clump of evergreen foliage.
They generally do not need any staking
‘Spring Celebrities’ Hollyhocks bloom from late spring to late summer.
Remove spent stems to promote even more repeat blooming.
They make excellent cut flowers for large vases.
Plant in full sun to part shade, where they are frost hardy and able to cope in a wide range of soils.
Including sandy, clay and good garden loam.
‘Spring Celebrities’ Hollyhocks have been bred for improved disease resistance.
Resistant to rabbits & deer.
While no plant is immune to a starving bunny – given normal conditions Hollyhocks are not tasty.
Once established, these perennials will self-seed in the garden without ever becoming a pest and always giving an old-world charm.
