AUSTRAFLORA DINNER BELLS CORREA
Correa ‘Dinner Bells’
Correa ‘Dinner Bells’ is nectar on a plate for our native, Honeyeater birds.
Bees and birds just love them, and so do we gardeners.
Slender bells of red and cream dangle from every branch for at least six months, from early summer on and through into winter. Looking rather like a native Fuchsia decorated with so many little bells.
Correa ‘Dinner Bells’ naturally grows as a rounded, neat, small shrub, and provides excellent habitat cover for small birds all year round.
It has glossy, little evergreen leaves and is toughly tolerant of a wide range of garden conditions, including coastal planting, pots and balcony life.
Plant in full sun to partly shaded positions.
Once established, Correa ‘Dinner Bells’ is hardy in moderate frosts, and resistant to heavier frosts when planted under taller trees and shrubs. It will also tolerate lime-based soils, and poorer, rocky or sandy soils.
It is a water-wise and drought resistant shrub once established.
Correa ‘Dinner Bells’ is a low maintenance shrub – evergreen, and naturally forming a neat, rounded, dense shape.
However, you can trim over lightly with shears after blooming if you wish to make it a formal garden or pot specimen.
Evergreen shrub 1-1.2m High x 1-1.2m High x Wide.
