PUMPKIN SAGE
Salvia greggii ‘Pumpkin’
Salvia gregii ‘Pumpkin’ has prolific blooms of a lovely and unusual pumpkin colour.
Not harsh like orange, but instead like creamy butternut pumpkin soup.
Birds and bees can’t resist these flowers and neither can I.
Salvia gregii ‘Pumpkin’ makes a woody, rounded little shrub, clothed all year round with aromatic, dainty green leaves.
Plus long blooming, as it is covered on mass with the pumpkin-coloured flowers continually from mid-summer through autumn.
Wonderfully hardy and easy to grow.
Salvia greggii ‘Pumpkin’ relishes sun. So plant in full sun, though it will also tolerate a little part-shade as long as it is not too wet.
Resistant to sun, heat, dry, wind, rabbits and deer.
Loves to grow in well-drained soil, sandy or gravel soils, and ideally suited to sea-side planting.
Low maintenance small, evergreen shrub.
That can be left for years to get on with blooming.
Though an annual trim over – either at the end of autumn blooming, or in early spring – will keep it perfectly neat, rounded and in bloom for months.

Bloom Season: Long blooming from spring to autumn end.
