WHITE VELVET SAGE
Salvia leucantha ‘Velour White’
Salvia leucantha ‘Velour White’ is gorgeous and stylish.
With white trumpet flowers peeping from grey-white velvet calyx along long, elegant flower spires.
Plus the whole plant is covered with grey velvet, including the flower spires, stems and foliage.
Salvia leucantha ‘Velour White’ begins to glisten with spires of white, just when everything else is exhausted and finished in late summer.
Then continues to bloom all the way into winter.
White winter velvet
Velvet Sage is such an apt name. Because an established clump of Salvia leucantha ‘Velour White’ bears literally hundreds of velvety flower stems, so handily late in the gardening year. The foliage is also attractively velvety.
Plus velvety 2 tone foliage
Plus, the foliage is also attractively two toned. With grey green felt uppers to the leaves and white velvet undersides.
So any breeze makes the foliage appear to sparkle as it twists and turns.
